New Blue Bins Program in Airdrie

BlueBinsAirdrie City council approved the blue box curbside recycling at its meeting on Sept. 21

For some residents of Aidrie this is a good news and for others it is a waste of time and money.

I was long waiting for this said Jim a resident of the Hillcrest community.

“I think the blue bin program was supposed to be before the green as the green was not a necessary program. No too many neighbours use them as the blue bins would”.

Seventy per cent of Airdrie residents mentioned in different forms of surveys and public.

The capital cost to add an additional deport and introduce blue bin curbside recycling is $2,037,275 with operating costs of $2,239,522 (2017). As reported in the local newspaper Airdrie City View.
